Switchfoot Releases Lyric Video for “Joy Invincible”

Switchfoot offered an unexpected surprise when they let fans know they would be releasing a lyric video and new arrangement for “Joy Invincible,” a song off their album Native Tongue. During Jon Foreman’s daily “Live from Home” videos (found on Switchfoot’s Facebook and Instagram), he has shared several times about finding joy in these trying times and how “Joy Invincible” has become a sort of anthem during this particular season.

The lyric video for “Joy Invincible” features guest vocalist Jenn Johnson of Bethel Music. Her melodic vocals harmonize with Jon’s really well, breathing new life and meaning into the song. The lyrics play over scenes from Switchfoot’s home of San Diego, of beaches, sun, ocean, and sea gulls. It truly feels like they are giving us a glimpse of their “Joy Invincible” to hold onto in this time. The lyrics, “Hallelujah, nevertheless / Was a song that pain couldn’t destroy / Hallelujah, nevertheless / You’re my joy invincible / Joy invincible joy” resonate to the soul.
