Lori Peters, who drummed for Skillet through the albums Alien Youth, Collide, and Comatose, is raising funds to combat breast cancer through Breast Cancer Can Stick It‘s 2019 Drummathon. You can join her by visiting her campaign page.
“My mission is to help raise money for others struggling with breast cancer. I’m drumming for healing, hope, and awareness,” Lori shares. For her, that mission is personal. “I was diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2018, and I’m coming up on my one year anniversary of being cancer free! Please help me raise funds for this fantastic event. I want to show my support, but also continue my own healing journey by attending Drummathon 2019!”
The drummathon will take place in Dallas, TX on October 6, kicking off Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The fundraising event features live music, including celebrity guests and opportunities for attendees to drum alongside them. You can register to attend here.
In addition to raising funds directly, Lori Peters donated some vintage Skillet memorabilia to the cause. She’s been sharing updates, including telling more of her personal story, on recently launched Facebook and Instagram profiles.
You can also follow Breast Cancer Can Stick It on Facebook for continued updates as the event approaches.
